Our Animal World
Our Animal World is an educational mobile zoo. We attend schools, nurseries, care homes, events and parties. We have the world’s ONLY mobile zoo in a van! Our specially designed van opens up as a mobile exotics unit, allowing each of our animals to be in smaller versions of their home enclosures with all the correct heating and UV when they are out. We can bring out 20+ animals in one go with our Van Experience and have smaller options for in-venue experiences as well.
We also have the Our Animal World Club which runs Under 5’s sessions, Home ed, SEN and after-school sessions as well as holiday workshops. Our Animal World is an AQA-accredited centre which allows children at our club to work towards official certificates of recognition for their learning about animals.

Rotary Club of Stowmarket Gipping Valley
Our club is based in Stowmarket and has members both from the town itself and surrounding villages. Our motto is community before self, and this has shown itself in the various projects that the club has done since its inauguration in 2002.
Amongst those projects is support to the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service by helping to provide smoke alarms to vulnerable households. We have also given assistance to the Stowmarket Food Bank, and The Forge Community Church together with the Moses Project which gives practical help to families in need to cope with newborn babies.

Stowmarket Carnival
Stowmarket Carnival is a wonderful family event and one of very few Carnivals still running in Suffolk.
A weekend event in July, we start with a procession through the town of decorated floats, dancers, bands, and acts, ending at the Recreation Ground fete with live music, a Fun Fair, and a range of food, crafts, small trader, and charity stalls.
Run by unpaid volunteers, and relying heavily on sponsorship and donations of both money and services, the Carnival provides affordable fun and entertainment for local families.

Stowmarket Foodbank
Provides emergency food parcels to individuals and families who are in crisis
The Stowmarket and Area Foodbank was launched in 2012 to provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families from Stowmarket and surrounding areas who are in crisis.
We work with local organisations to identify individuals and families who can benefit from our services (this also helps us reduce fraud). We have 55 professional referral agencies that send people to us.
We have collection points in, Asda, Tesco, Lidl, Stowupland Garage and the local Co-op stores in Stowmarket and Needham Market, Elmswell, Woolpit and Haughley.
The demand for help from the foodbank increased during the pandemic. Before the outbreak we were supporting an average of 60 families per month; with the unprecedented demand we are now handing out an average of 40 parcels a week.

Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS)
Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) is an emergency medical charity set up in 1972. SARS offers a voluntary local response that can help treat time-critical patients before they reach the hospital. SARS responders include anaesthetists, critical care paramedics and advanced clinical practitioners.
These experienced clinicians have additional skills, which enable them to undertake medical interventions at the scene of an incident, which would not otherwise be possible outside the hospital environment. All SARS clinicians are mobilised via the 999 critical care desk and offer their services without charge. The presence of a SARS responder at an incident scene can help save lives, reducing the chance of patients suffering permanent disability and providing relief from pain.
SARS receives no central government funding and relies on voluntary donations to support its activity, which has helped save countless lives over the years.
